Back in December we were lucky enough to get a visit from my favorite storyteller:  Queen Glitter!  She comes all the way from Glitterland to share stories and magic with our students!  We absolutely love her!

Queen Glitter comes from Everybody Wins Atlanta... "When you read with a child, EVERYBODY WINS!"  They also gave each student a free book to keep forever!  Thanks, Everybody Wins Atlanta!

We are very lucky at MES to have an amazing Media Center thanks to our Media Specialist Ms. Thames.  She and Ms. Moore work hard every day to provide us with an endless supply of books and lessons to enhance our curriculum.  We love visiting the Media Center and exploring all of the fun things to do!

Hi Everyone!!!

Two exciting things are happening tomorrow...

First, it's our winter party!  Students can wear pajamas and bring their teddy bears for a cozy party with holiday movies & popcorn.  I can't wait!!
Second, tomorrow is Sunset Stories at Oakbrook Point Apartments.  Meet Ms. Stopp and Ms. Vogt for a fun holiday story and activity!!

Thank you to the families who came to our holiday luncheon last week!  We had so much fun celebrating the season with you!

One of my favorite things to do in the winter months is study our favorite Children's Book Author - Jan Brett!  We will be reading several of her books over the next two months.  We will also learn about her illustrations, and how we can illustrate our own pictures like Jan Brett!

Click on her picture on our Ready Readers page to visit her website!

Families,

Today is our turn for the Holiday Luncheon!  Meet us in the cafeteria at 11:54 to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year!

The next few weeks we'll be learning all about clocks!  Today we activated our prior knowledge by brainstorming what we already knew about clocks... We knew a LOT!
After brainstorming, we watched a Brainpop video about the parts of a clock.  Then we started making our own clocks.  Later this week we'll use our clocks to practice telling time!
