We had a FANTASTIC time at the Center for Puppetry Arts on Friday!  Many of the first grade teachers agreed that it was one of our favorite field trips!

First, our class saw the show "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."  It was a very impressive puppet show!  We learned about different kinds of puppetry and animatronics the puppeteers used during the performance.  I wasn't able to take any photos during the show, but if you're interested in visiting the center you can see their website here.

After the show we ate lunch at the Center, and then we attended a puppet-making workshop where we made our very own marionette reindeer puppets to take home!

Thank you to the Center for Puppetry Arts for using their Title 1 funding to sponsor our trip!  We had a fantastic time!  I hope we get to come back next year!

When we returned to school, the students asked me if we could blog about our trip!  Of course I said "yes!"  You can read our blogs here.  (Your child will need to enter their password to read the posts.)

Have a fantastic holiday with your families!  I can't wait to start a great new year together in January!

We made Christmas trees with ice cream cones and green frosting while we watching "Santa Clause is Coming to Town".  After we finished our treats, we played freeze dance!  It was a great time!

Reminder:  Our winter party is tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 16)

Parents and families may join us at 2:00.  Students are allowed to bring treats or drinks for the class if they would like, but you do not need to.

Thank you for bringing your $2.00.  We will have a special project to make during our party thanks to your donations!  If you would still like to contribute, you may bring $2.00 tomorrow.

See you tomorrow!  :-)

Thanks for coming to celebrate the holidays with us!  We had a great time!

Today was a yummy day in our class!  We read The Gingerbread Man and ate some gingerbread cookies!  After our first bite, we collected data and created a bar graph.  Each child added a square to show what their cookie looked like after the first bite!  You can see the graph we created on our Activeboard below:

Some graphing words we added to our Math Word Wall are:
