Salutations boys and girls!

I hope you're having lots of fun this summer!  Mr. Fry, Lily and I are having a great time!  We've been spending lots of time at the pool, reading, and cooking.  On Thursday we're driving to Philadelphia to visit friends and family.  We're going to spend the 4th of July at the beach in New Jersey.  There are always lots of fireworks!  I can't wait!

What have you been up to?  Leave me a comment!  I can't wait to hear how your summers are going!

Love,
Mrs. Fry

P.S.  I have photos from the Book Fiesta to show you, but I am having some trouble with my camera.  Once I get it fixed, I'll publish them so you can see!  Don't forget to go and read every Saturday at the Lilburn Library (10:30am).

Here's a picture of Lily sunbathing on our porch - she loves to lay out here all afternoon!  :-

Thanks to all of the kids who came out to SRC last Saturday!  We had a great time listening to Ms. Bierman read Stanley's Party with her cute dachshund Dolby!

Ms. Temples helped us make cute dog puppets to take home and act out the story with!

I hope to see even more kids next Saturday!  Remember, it's at 10:30 at the Lilburn Branch of the Gwinnet Co. Library.  Click here for more information.

Enjoy this slideshow of all the fun:

A few months ago, we wrote persuasive letters to Ms. McCain.  We were trying to convince her to pick us for the Friday Dance!  We were so excited when she chose us for the last Friday Dance of the whole year!  We recorded the dance in our classroom on Thursday afternoon, and we watched ourselves on TV during the announcements on Friday!  It was so exciting!!!

Memory day is a great way to finish up the school year!  This year for memory day we spent most of our time making memory books.  They were small enough to fit into our report card envelopes on the last day of school!

We also spent time this year using some left over construction paper scraps - one student started a trend and made a hat.. then everyone decided to make hats!  Some of the boys decided to make their hats about natural disasters based on a book they were reading (tsunamis, floods, tornados, volcano eruptions, etc.).  They were really neat!  :-)

Come join me at the Lilburn branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library tomorrow at 10:30am for Summer Reading Club!!  Click here for more information.

I can't wait to see you all there!!

P.S.  Joana,  Tell Gustav we all say hi to him, too!  :-)

I think Oobleck is one of the coolest things to make!  It's squishy and slimy but it melts in your hand.  We had so much fun playing with it after we read Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss!

Volcano Day was so much fun!  Here are some pictures of what we did!  Enjoy!  :-)

Boys and Girls,

Thank you so much for your comments!  I love to hear about what you're up to now that school is out!  Here are my responses to your comments:

Joana,

Meeting you at McDonalds would be wonderful!  I am on vacation right now, but we can meet one day next week.  I will let you know when I'm back and we can set up at time.  Did you ask your mom to e-mail me?  I can post it on our website too and see if some of the other students want to come meet us there.  :-)

Gaby,

I'll bet you had fun at the pool!  What other cool things are you up to this summer?  I'm at the beach right now.  We saw some really cool crabs, fish, and dolphins.  Yesterday, Mr. Fry and I rode in a kayak!  It's been so much fun!

Itzel,

I miss you too!  Your trip to Florida sounds great!  Did you go to the beach with your cousins?  Don't worry about missing a few days, you don't have to write me every day unless you want to!  I'll do my best to respond as quickly as I can.

Love,
Mrs. Fry
